2019 US Open Women’s Singles Main Draw
Earlier today, the 2019 US Open women’s singles main draw was released by USTA.
World number one, Naomi Osaka, seeded #1 takes the top spot in the top half of the draw. 1R will see her swing rackets against 20-year-old Russian, Anna Blinková. Other seeded players sitting in the top half with Osaka are Simona Halep (#4), Petra Kvitova (#6) Kiki Bertens (#7), to mention a few, the aforementioned players will kick off their first round matches against qualifiers. Former world number one and two-time Australian open champion, Victoria Azarenka also graces the top half, she faces no. 9 seed, Aryna Sabalenka.

The bottom half closes out with no. 2 seed, Ashleigh Barty, she meets Zarina Diyas for a spot in the 2R. Serena and Sharapova are set to clash at the 1R of the tournament. 2019 French Open finalist, Marketa Vondroušová sets up a first round meeting with Swiss Player, Golubic Viktorija. Western & Southern Open champion, Madison Keys will open against Misaki Doi. No. 3 seed as well as 2016 US Open finalist kicks off with a qualifier while no. 5 seed, Elina Svitolina meets 17-year-old wild card recipient Whitney Osuigwe.
